After saying goodbye to Alyssa (way to soon) we drove north to take the kids to see the San Diego temple...
After walking the grounds of the temple we headed further north to Torrey Pines State Park in La Jolla. Pretty much everything on the coast is beautiful but this was stunning...I could have stayed all day exploring all the trails and enjoying the views...just add it to my list of reasons to go back...
After a quick picnic lunch at a park we headed over to Balboa Park. We met up with Tara and family at the Organ concert, then went to check out the international houses...
We explored the different houses, ate all kinds of interesting foods, and then decorated cupcakes while listening to folk music. Everyone was so friendly and nice, it was such a fun atmosphere.
Hadyn won a prize for working the longest on decorating her beautiful cupcake...
Apparantely Balboa Park is not only beautiful but HUGE, I had no idea...it quickly became another place I absolutely LOVED and could have stayed the entire day. We had fun exploring, watching street performers, playing in fountains, and not being able to decide which way to go next...
and the not so fun part was losing Hadyn...you would think with three kids and three adults we would have had a handle on the situation but obviously we didn't. We found her with only minimal freaking out from Bree. We called it a day, left the park and headed back to the island.
Happy Birthday Tim!!! We celebrated you ALL day long!!
