the beach

Everyone LOVED the beach...who doesn't??  We were there almost every day and a few times biked back in the evening...and it still wasn't close to enough...this was the first trip that I completely understood why people live in Cali...

Dax had his life made on the beach...he rode to and from the beach on a boogie board...

Dax also liked to throw sand along with throwing a few fits in the sand, which were always fun.  He also liked to eat sand, which after our first day at the beach I quit trying to make him stop...wasn't worth it.  He did not like the water at all and would cling on for his life and scream if I ever even tried to put his toes in, so we just stayed and played in the sand together.

Taryn and Drake were pretty much inseperable on the beach.  They loved playing with Gracie, chasing waves and building sand castles...we rarely heard from them each time we were there...

And Hadyn, in typical fashion, was always off in her own little world...she was almost always in the water chasing waves and playing.  I was really surprised at how completely entertained she was.

I even got in a few times (not the first few days when the water was FREEZING) but it seemed to warm up so I went boogie boarding with Tara, which was a blast.  Then Aaron agreed to teach us to surf...I caught a few waves (not big ones but I got up)  Something else I didn't get enough of...when do we go back??  I am not sure why we don't have the trip planned already.

I was worried that all the beaches would be crowded and crazy because of the holiday, but they weren't, they were just perfect and beautiful...everything about it was better than I could have imagined...we LOVE the island.
