30...really??

In heaven there are no years...time is infinite...another reason why heaven will be beautiful and perfect. Who wants to get older?? I don't. I don't want my kids too...I just want to stop time...stay where I am...but then I suppose I won't be able to return to my Heavenly Father that way, ahh...the plan. I guess I will suck it up...I will get older, let my kids get older and hope and pray I did the best I could for them.

Wow...back to reality...turning 30 does something to you.

I have celebrated LOTS over the past few months and have enjoyed each and every moment!! And today was without exception...and also without photos...not sure how that happened...so here are few memories...

Receiving 30 balloons...from some blonde girl??? (I wasn't here when they were delivered, and that was the description of who delivered them...it took me all day to find out who they were from...Owen of course)

My birthday crown

Julia crying at lunch...and Bree...and Tara...and Cindy...Julianne?? Krista??? It was an emotional day...and when I get older like Bree I will understand...

My store bought angel food cake that Owen brought home...put it in our angel food cake pan, and put it in the oven...he is the best isn't he...nothing quite like homemade

Taryn insisting I am 29 (I told her last year that I would never be any older...that girl doesn't forget)

Hearing my birthday song...again...that never gets old : )

My MANY birthday wishes...thank you everyone. It was a wonderful day!!

the spa

The celebration begins...well, I began celebrating back in May when I went to New York...so I guess, the celebration continues!!! Unfortunately, Hawaii and the Caribbean were out of the question this time, so we settled on a day at the spa, filled with TONS of fun, relaxation, laughter and best of all memories.

After being upgraded to a suite in our already free room...that's right, we love you Camelback Marriott, we checked out our room...awesome...

and our views...double awesome!!

then we headed up to the spa...chilaxin' by the pool!! The hardest thing about the spa was trying to be quiet...we were not very good at that...

we went for our spa treatments next...massages. I have never been to a spa, nor have I ever had a massage so this was all new to me...and I don't know WHY I waited so long. It took me a little bit to relax during my fabulous hot stone massage but once I did I did NOT want to leave...1 hour was not even close to long enough. After we were done with the massages, all in a daze, hanging out in the waiting room, watching Ash flash everyone, my name was called again and I was so confused...only because I half asleep still. Everyone was saying "Happy Birthday Katie", still confused I got up and followed the lady to my NEXT spa treatment...surprise #1, a scalp massage. I am not easily surprised and this was an "oh so heavenly" surprise and a perfect completion to my massage. Thank you again girls!!

We headed back out to the pool for some more relaxation and a little surprise from me this time...waiting on every one's lounge chairs...a custom towel for the occasion

embroidered with our names and China Glitter 2009, of course!! The excitement and surprise was AMAZING...thanks Bree for helping pull this off!!

It was then time to freshen up and head out to Oreganos...for a super yummy dinner...

Apparently the one Oregano's was really busy so we drove to a different one...which had an hour wait since it just started to down pour and half their seating is outside. So we went on a drive...around some huge houses...then we were pulling into a gated community...still clueless. We pulled up to this house and everyone got out...I followed and realized this was Julia's aunts house. We went inside and her cousin was there with her new baby. It all made sense now...we had some time to kill and Julia (the baby whisperer) wanted to come see the new baby. Then everyone gathered around the piano...

surprise #2...I have to say this was by far one of the best gifts I have ever received. It was perfect, it was hilarious, and it was a complete surprise...I was laughing so hard I had tears streaming down my face all the while trying to hold the camera still. I still can't get enough of this song...you guys rock!!! And who knew Julia could play piano so well...and sing...

After a late night we were in need of more spa treatments...but had to settle for relaxing in and by the pool...with our matching towels...which was almost as good.

Then back to our room to get ready for the day and my favorite breakfast...

and putting on my surprise #3 (does it ever stop)...since Tara won't share...

And headed out for a day full of shopping, laughter, more great food, tons more fun and of course no girls trip would be complete without bahama bucks!!

and a few highlights:

tripping...once, twice...maybe more

that huge store we saw...it was MASSIVE!!

sharing dressing rooms...

bree's COMPLETE indecisiveness about the luggage

tickle hill, have you been?...they put it speed bumps, and then a guard gate and then tire slashers

the super secret floor of nordstroms...oh wait wrong trip...

kissing a life size golden walrus

LOTS of skin tight pants

Julia sneaking out of the whole super skin tight pant party...

actually surprising Julia with the towels

a super fun weekend with a few of my bffs...what more could a girl want

I am sure I forgot something...so feel free to add on...

Thanks again girls for the amazing weekend...so now what are we doing for my "real" birthday?

we love to celebrate

Not surprisingly Drake wanted to be just like Taryn and go to As You Wish for his birthday. So after McDonald's for lunch we headed over to paint some pottery. The kids had fun painting their creations and I enjoyed watching them, watching their concentration, and watching Taryn get so mad when she couldn't make a straight line and then trying to blame it on everyone else.

I love Ben curled up on Taryn's shoulder...

After painting pottery and Drake's favorite dinner, pizza, my parents came over for ice cream and presents. My dad came in with a very special gift for Drake...a phone book. It was supposed to be a joke that my parents got him book sitting on our front porch but Drake was SOO excited about HIS phone book...we all couldn't stop laughing. He and Taryn were immediately looking up everything they could think of...why in the world did I buy him any presents? The best gift was free at my front door.

When we were at Costco the day before we sampled this tropical sorbet...Drake loved it and insisted we get it for his birthday...so we did this instead of a cake, it was fun and super yummy!!

Blowing out the candles...for the third time...

6 down...many more to go...

more hot dogs and cake

We celebrated again that evening with Daddy and Grandma and Grandpa Fellow.  I always let the kids pick their meals...so big surprise, it was hot dogs again...

I love watching kids this age open gifts.  They are always so excited and expressive...and of course Hadyn was over the top...it was hilarious.  I can't wait until Christmas!!

Hadyn Ariel dolls and a dress...but the evening couldn't be complete with out our traditional treasure hunt...

Hady-boo look in mommy's shoe

Hady-boo find the chair that is blue

Hady-boo find the cow that is blue (yea that one was a stretch...)

Hady-boo you'll find your treasure where the laundry goes too

Happy 3rd Birthday Hadyn!!!

a "pinkalicious" party

Sunday evening I decided I should have a little party for Hadyn on her birthday so she felt special...my goal in life to make my kids feel special.  Since I was planning this WAY last minute and I had bought this book for her birthday I decided a "Pinkalicious" party would be the perfect thing for my little 3 year old terror...I mean princess.

I asked each girl to wear pink and we had ALL kinds of pink decorations, pink foods, and pink crafts...pink EVERYTHING.

The girls colored pictures from the book with all different colors of pink crayons...

Then we made pink beaded necklaces...which everyone quickly got bored of, except my Hadyn

Then we ate, pink hot dogs, pink chocolate popcorn, bagels with pink cream cheese, pink fruit loops, and of course pink lemonade

Then we made pink wands and played freeze dance to the girls favorite song "I want a hippopotamus for Christmas"  They were quite the dancers...I think we have Tara to thank for that.

And FINALLY we had pink cupcakes with pink icing...and Hadyn had her third (everytime I turned around she had another)

My pink princesses were all FABULOUS, and we all had so much fun.  Thanks so much for coming on such short notice!!

And if you haven't read "Pinkalicious"...pick it up for your pink princess.  Thanks Julia for the reccomendation!!!
